PROJECT MANAGER

(FOSTERING "CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION AMBASSADORS" TO FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE) The Project Manager will lead and manage the implementation of the project, Fostering "Climate Change Action Ambassadors" to Fight Against Climate Change, which is a project funded by the HSBC. The project's main goal is to create youth climate change ambassadors and mobilize them to support strategies for mitigation, adaptation, resilience, loss, and damage within their generation and broader society. The project will be carried out in collaboration with five state-owned universities in Sri Lanka.

Job Description

  • Development, Execution, and Monitoring of Project Plans
  • Preparation of project budget, management, and monitoring
  • Coordination and communication with Project Stakeholders to achieve project goals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project donors
  • Preparation of Project Narrative and Financial Reports
  • Oversee and monitor the activities of the project team and guide and support team members to ensure project objectives are met
  • Develop project knowledge and communication material
  • Coordination and facilitation of project meetings
  • Provide guidance and coordination with project consultants and ensure consultants adhere to project requirements and deliverables
  • Leadership and Negotiation with External Stakeholders: lead negotiations with external stakeholders for potential collaboration opportunities and foster positive relationships and partnerships to enhance project outcomes

Candidate Profile

Degree in Climate change/Environment sciences or similar discipline, with 3-5 years' experience in managing similar projects; previous experience in an I/NGO an advantage; flexibility and commitment to work; experience in interaction with various agencies including universities, government, and private sector
