SENIOR MANAGER - PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Responsibilities
- Work closely during the 'pilot' process in order to ensure accurate assembly of all pilot garments, employment of efficient methods, specifications, and machine set-up drive product engineering at the lowest possible standard minute values (SMV) in an industrial environment.
- Supervise overall sample room operation for both active & Casual categories.
- Develop appropriate model in alignment with the customer expectation and direct the team to facilitate business growth.
- Conduct/ attend relevant technical meetings by emphasizing product manufacturability, possible risk factors, and all other technical challenges to ensure timely solutions for effective garment construction process.
- Lead the technical team for monitoring the critical path flow to ensure customer expectations are met at all times.
- Supervise the accuracy of the pattern creation in alignment with the design intent and according to the process upon receipt of the tech pack to ensure that no pattern issues are highlighted. (As and when required)
- Facilitate smooth production by ensuring timely communication of technical knowledge among the stakeholders to ensure zero product related matters.
- Verify accuracy of patterns against samples whilst identifying and addressing all technical issues. (As and when required)
- Ensure that customer comments are accurately incorporated at each style to achieve the expected fit requirements.
- Participate in the fit sessions and ensure all samples fit according to customer expectations.
- Ensure that accurate product-related information is shared on time during factory engagement points (DRA, PDRA, FI) and provide production feasible solutions or manufacturing challenges.
- Liaison with manufacturing units to keep current on engineering progress, seek out measures for improvements & innovative techniques.
- Provide mechanical assistance and oversee all maintenance to ensure effective sewing plant maintenance and resource utilization.
- Provide comprehensive information to manufacturing units on machinery, attachments, folders, etc., required for production to enable preparation for bulk production and the tech pack.
- Ensure the availability of spares/ utilities/services required by the production processes at the best prices, in consistent quality when required, and are utilized to the optimum.
- Ensure that the technical team members are aligned to the lean manufacturing principals practiced as organizational standards.
- Optimize performance of the team through ongoing training/development, develop positive employee relations through excellent communication/people management, and participate in the development/application of the knowledge transfer process Develop, control/monitor the department's budget.
- Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- MBA/Degree in relevant field preferred or Diploma with relevant experience.
- 6-7 years of relevant work experience in a similar capacity
- Experience in Casual wear Garment Technology role in Development & bulk will be advantageous.
