Chief Engineer

As a Chief Engineer for Renewable Energy Projects, you will lead the technical aspects of the wind power and solar power project developments under the company, ensuring the successful design, implementation, and operation of the energy systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development of wind, solar, and BESS project designs and technical feasibilities to oversee the overall implementation of the project.
  • Provide project management and supervision of all contacts associated with the project from contract execution through commercial operations, liaising with the relevant parties and Overseeing project development, EPC, and O&M.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance and leadership for the development, construction, and operation of Solar & wind projects.
  • Oversee the planning, conceptualization, and design phases of renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct thorough resource assessments, feasibility studies, and site evaluations to optimize the selection and utilization of renewable energy resources.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, equipment, and methodologies to enhance the performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of renewable energy systems.
  • Lead the engineering design process, including layout optimization, equipment specification, and system integration, to achieve optimal performance and reliability in renewable energy installations.
  • Establish and implement robust quality assurance and control measures to uphold the highest standards of engineering excellence and regulatory compliance in renewable energy projects.
  • Stay abreast of relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing renewable energy projects, ensuring full compliance and adherence to best practices in engineering and environmental stewardship.
  • Coordinate startup procedures and documentation with contractors, engineers, customers, owners, utility companies, and CEB.

Minimum qualifications

  • Degree or Professional Qualification relevant to the renewable energy sector.
  • Proven experience 7+ years in renewable energy project development, design, and implementation, with a focus on utility-scale projects.
  • Experience in implementing a minimum of 10MW of Wind power & 10MW Solar power in Sri Lanka.
  • Exposure in private and public sectors in the power sector with overall experience in generation & transmission (Past working experience with CEB, SEA, PUCSL will be an added advantage).
