Vacancy for Project Manager

The National Peace Council of Sri Lanka (NPC) is a non-profit organisation working for national reconciliation and peace since 1995. Our work reaches all levels of society, and each activity helps strengthen support for reconciliation, transitional justice and peace. NPC works in partnership with different target groups to educate, mobilize and advocate for a society of rights conscious citizens.

NPC is looking to hire a suitable candidate to implement a project to promote democracy in Sri Lanka by promoting political pluralism, safeguarding fundamental freedom, ensure electoral fairness issues such as misinformation, underrepresentation of women, and voter education. The project will be implemented across Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall implementation of project activities in accordance with the implementation plan or LFA.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders and partner organisations.
  • Guide the project staff to organize field events, monitor and evaluate reports of field events.
  • Responsible for Monitoring and Evaluation of the progress of the project.
  • Preparation of all the project related reports, including reports to the donor.
  • Document case studies, success stories, stories of change, and project outcomes.
  • Responsible for project budget management in consultation with the Finance Unit. Project related decision making in consultation with the Executive Director.

Qualifications and experience desired:

• A basic degree or professional qualification in Peace and Conflict Resolution, Development Studies, Economics, or related disciplines.

• 5 to 7 years' experience in Project Management in an NGO/ INGO or International Development Agency.

• An understanding of current Governance, Human Rights and Peace Building issues.

• Excellent knowledge of English, and with a working knowledge of Sinhala/Tamil. Good proposal and report writing skills.

• Good knowledge of MS Office package

• Monitoring Evaluation skills will be an advantage.

• Willing to travel to all parts of the country.
