Joinery Creations is a medium-sized joinery company based in Melbourne known for its quality service and joinery amongst the Tier 2 & 3 commercial fit-out industry. We pride ourselves on our great company culture, made up of driven professional team members.
We are currently seeking an individual to join our current estimating team who will fit the company culture and uphold our values.
- The candidate must be someone from the quantity surveying or cabinet making industry.
- This person must have at least 3 years of estimating experience, preferably in joinery. Job training will be provided on both methodology and software.
- Knowledge and experience in AutoCAD is essential.
In the Role you will be required to:
- Break down tender packages and create accurate scope of works
- Create accurate, detailed, and well-presented estimates for submittal of tenders
- Create and maintain strong relationships with clients & suppliers
- Prepare projects for handover to Project Management team in Melbourne
- Negotiate with suppliers and contractors
- Be open to mentoring, learning, and ongoing personal and professional development
Skills and Requirements:
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to read plans and complete take off of joinery
- Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong joinery/cabinet making construction knowledge
- A trade background is preferred - cabinet making/joinery/shopfitting
- Intermediate to Strong Computer Skills
- The ability to work independently and within a team
