Vacancy Announcement: Public Health Specialist

Job Purpose:

  • The Public Health Specialist (PHS) is a member of the MSF South Asia (India and Sri Lanka) Medical Research Innovation & Social Mission (MRIS) team
  • Focusing on developing and implementing advocacy strategies, supporting research on public health interventions, and raising awareness on key obstacles to healthcare
  • Collaborating with stakeholders in the public health field in the South Asia region

Main Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Supporting activities to develop overall strategic objectives and action plans
  • Evaluating strategic opportunities for engagement in ending TB by 2030
  • Coordinating with team members on various dossiers like TB, AMR, Dengue, NCD
  • Networking, coordinating, and representing MSF in key discussions and conferences

Key Dimensions:

  • Financial dimensions: Engaging with MSF sections and stakeholders for budget alignment
  • Other dimensions: Management of Infectious Disease, NCDs, and climate change dossiers

Key Interactions:

  • Members of the MRIS Team, Management Team, Programs Unit, Public Health Department
  • External organizations relevant to the Infectious Disease and NCD dossiers

Profile Requirements:

  • Educational requirement: Post-graduate degree in public health, tropical medicine, or equivalent
  • Relevant Experience: 3-5 years in healthcare projects/operational research
  • Competencies requirements: Analytical Thinking, Strategic Vision, Results Orientation, etc.
