A diversified manufacturing Group located in Western Province with its head office in Colombo is in search of a professional to work as a strategic business partner providing continuous support to the Leadership Team by effectively delivering all HR services and adding value to overall business performance.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded HR leader to drive the people’s agenda across our diversified business, spanning manufacturing and FMCG. This senior leadership role will be responsible for aligning our people strategy with business growth, strengthening organizational capability, developing high-performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong HR expertise, business acumen and leadership maturity to partner with senior management and drive the organization's next phase of growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the overall Human Resources strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives, growth plans and long-term vision.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to the CEO and senior management, providing HR insights and advice on organizational and people-related decisions.
  • Lead the complete HR function, ensuring effective and consistent delivery of HR operations, policies, systems and services across the organization.
  • Lead workforce planning and organizational development, ensuring the right structure, capabilities and talent are in place to support business growth.
  • Develop and execute strategies for talent acquisition, succession planning, talent development and retention, with particular focus on critical leadership positions.
  • Establish and strengthen performance management and reward systems that drive accountability, productivity and high performance.
  • Develop competitive compensation, benefits and employee reward frameworks aligned with market practices and business requirements.
  • Build a strong pipeline of talent through career development, leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Drive initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, organizational culture, employee experience and retention.
  • Lead and strengthen employee relations and industrial relations, ensuring a productive and harmonious workplace across operational and corporate environments.
  • Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan labor laws, statutory requirements, HR policies and corporate governance standards.
  • Partner with manufacturing and business leaders to improve workforce productivity, manpower utilization, discipline and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead learning and development strategies to build technical, functional and managerial and leadership capabilities across the organization.
  • Drive organizational change management and transformation initiatives, supporting the business through periods of growth, restructuring and continued improvement.
  • Establish and utilize HR analytics and people metrics to monitor workforce trends, productivity, turnover, absenteeism, manpower costs and other key indicators, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Continuously review and improve HR processes, systems and policies, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and employee service delivery.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement and performance throughout the organization.
  • Lead, coach and develop the HR team, building a high-performing, capable and service-oriented HR function.
  • Ensure HR practices effectively support the company's manufacturing and FMCG, taking into account the different workforce and business requirements of each area.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on people, organizational and employment-related matters.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related discipline; professional HR qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • At least 8-10 years of proven managerial experience in HR, with experience leading and developing an HR team.
  • Strong experience across both HR operations and strategic HR management.
  • Experience managing HR in a Manufacturing and FMCG or other fast-paced business environment will be highly advantageous.
