JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Garden Supervisor to lead our horticulture team. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of garden maintenance, staff supervision, and ensuring the upkeep of our beautiful island landscape. This role requires strong leadership skills, horticultural knowledge, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Supervise garden staff and supported employees, ensuring their safety and well-being while optimizing individual abilities and task allocation.
- Possess strong knowledge of gardening practices, plant care, inventory management (plants, tools, supplies), and the ability to perform all related tasks.
- Maintain high standards of work quality, regularly check employee work, and continuously seek improvements in productivity and work methods.
- Allocate tasks effectively, implement job rotation, and ensure work is completed on time and meets customer requirements.
- Identify training needs, maintain training records, and collaborate with HR to implement and monitor employee support plans.
- Provide vocational, personal, and special needs support to employees, assisting them in achieving productivity targets and escalating issues to HR as necessary.
- Enforce rigorous WHS standards, ensure all staff are well-trained in safety procedures, and model safe work behavior.
- Foster positive working relationships, assist with island cleaning and supply logistics, and coordinate other non-production tasks as needed.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, adhere to resort policies, attend meetings and training, and project a positive attitude.
- Undertake any reasonable tasks as assigned by management and adapt to changes in procedures.
