Solar Electrical Engineer (O&M)
Photon Renewable Services Pty Ltd is an Australian business specialising in the operations and maintenance of utility-scale solar farms across Australia. We are seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to join Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team.
Location:
Remote work from home (WFH) + Occasional in-person meetings in Colombo
Work Hours:
38 hrs per week (start times/finish time to be discussed)
Key Tasks & Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily, weekly, monthly prepare performance and maintenance reports
- Develop, refine, and implement maintenance plans and reliability programs
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues promptly and effectively
- Analyse asset performance and recommend optimisation strategies to enhance system efficiency
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure seamless operational execution
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements
- Manage the creation, tracking, and closure of work orders through the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System), ensuring timely execution of preventative and corrective tasks
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify reliability improvement opportunities, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring issues, and recommend corrective actions
Qualifications & Experience:
- Exceptional communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- At least 2-5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, ideally within renewable energy
- Experience with LV/HV solar PV systems, SCADA, and associated electrical infrastructure
- Strong administrative and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- A willingness to learn and work in a collaborative team environment
