Head of Manufacturing Excellence

Location - Corporate Office (Wattala)

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for pursuing a career in the apparel industry. The ideal candidate should be an energetic team player with excellent communication, a proactive attitude, and the ability to be self-motivated and work independently to achieve tight deadlines.

Job Role

  • Identify company’s current manufacturing set up and develop manufacturing excellence roadmap for the company covering IE, mechanical and engineering aspects of the business.
  • Analyze and provide solutions for efficiency and process improvements.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and develop, analyze and present solutions.
  • Across all operational processes, conduct ergonomic evaluation, recommending and implementing improvements to work area designs.
  • Provide guidance to distribution and logistics related to effective and efficient use of assets and processes.
  • Serve as technical expert on specialized project or program, act as advisor to management or customers.
  • Take responsibility and give direction to factory IE teams in order to align with the corporate & brand strategy.
  • Identify the best practices of each facility and implement the same across the group.
  • Study and identify effective resource allocation (man power, machinery, methods, etc.).
  • Conducts meetings and engage with multiple stakeholders including customers and brands.

Individual Profile

  • Degree/Diploma related to production/manufacturing/industrial engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar capacity in the apparel manufacturing industry.
  • The individual should possess a GSD certification.
  • Language proficiency in English.
  • Experience in project management involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to articulate IE/manufacturing practices with customers and brands.
  • Conversant in process engineering techniques i.e. lean, kaizen, etc.
  • Possess a sound understanding of existing industry mechanical and technological practices.
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & work in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to lead and make rational decisions in a fast-paced environment.
