Human Resources Executive - Payroll

Taj Samudra Colombo, a renowned luxury hotel, is seeking a dynamic and passionate Executive /Officer – Human Resources to join our esteemed HR team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and engagement initiatives to foster a positive and high-performing workplace culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate monthly payroll processing and payroll-related reports with the Finance Department.
  • Prepare and maintain no-pay, overtime, recruitment, resignation, gratuity, and final settlement reports.
  • Administer annual salary increments, appraisals, bonus payments, and wage settlement revisions.
  • Prepare payroll budgets and manpower-related reports.
  • Coordinate attendance system updates and changes with the HRIS provider (HSenid).
  • Manage gratuity calculations and employee benefit administration.
  • Handle maternity benefit administration and employee welfare-related matters.
  • Issue employment-related letters, including salary confirmation letters.
  • Liaise with the Labour Department, Labour Tribunal, and Labour Courts on employee-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and HR procedures.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Degree or Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management from a recognized institution (CIPM, IPM, PQHRM, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in payroll administration.
  • Sound knowledge of Sri Lankan labour laws, gratuity, compensation, and benefits administration.
  • Experience in using HRIS/Payroll systems, preferably HSenid.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR reporting.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
