VACANCY
QUANTITY SURVEYOR – ELECTRICAL & LIGHTING DEPARTMENT
Experience: Minimum 3 Years
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor – Electrical & Lighting to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of electrical and lighting projects, from tendering through to project completion.
The role involves quantity take-offs, cost estimation, BOQ preparation, contract administration, valuation of work, cost control, variation management, and preparation of payment applications, while ensuring compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for electrical and lighting works.
- Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and bid evaluations.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare interim payment applications, progress claims, and final accounts.
- Evaluate and manage variations, claims, and contractual correspondence.
- Review subcontractor quotes, negotiate rates, and certify subcontractor payments.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and clients to achieve commercial objectives.
- Maintain accurate cost records and prepare commercial reports.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions, project specifications, and company procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in Quantity Surveying for infrastructure projects.
- Sound knowledge of measurement principles, contract administration, and cost management.
- Familiarity with FIDIC or other standard forms of contract will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Quantity Surveying software.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
