Research & Development Intern
Planto Ceylon (Private) Ltd. is an ISO-certified, export-oriented, plant-based food manufacturing company located in Homagama. We are on a mission to defy the boundaries of the plant-based food industry through innovation and our passion for perfection. We are looking for a passionate and curious R&D Intern to join our team and contribute to our ongoing product development and improvement projects. This role offers valuable exposure to the full product innovation process—from concept to testing and evaluation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the R&D team in developing and testing new food products and formulations.
- Assist in product trials, data recording, and sensory evaluations.
- Conduct research on ingredients, packaging options, and market trends.
- Prepare and update product documentation, specifications, and reports.
- Maintain the R&D workspace in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Coordinate with the production and quality teams during pilot runs and product scale-ups.
- Help monitor shelf-life studies and collect product performance feedback.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Undergraduate in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or a related field.
- Strong interest in food innovation and product development.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a practical environment.
