SLIIT expanded its academic portfolio with the establishment of the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences in 2017. The Faculty offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in Education, Science, Biotechnology, Psychology, Nursing, Mathematics, and Law. We are inviting highly qualified applicants with a passion for teaching and research to join us as a Senior Lecturer (On Contract) and Lecturer (Teaching Track) at the Department of Linguistics.
Applicants must hold a 1st or 2nd class honours four-year bachelor’s degree in English, ELT or related field and a master’s degree at SLQF Level 10; or above or an external candidate with a 1st or 2nd class honours bachelor’s degree in English, ELT or related field and a master’s degree at SLQF Level 10 or above; or an internal/external candidate with a 1st or 2nd class honours bachelor’s degree in English, ELT or related field and a minimum of five years of experience as a qualified professional, and a professional master’s degree in the required specialization together with the relevant professional qualification in the selected discipline.
The ideal candidate must have at least six years of demonstrated competence in research, teaching, and/or industry practice after completing a bachelor’s degree with a good publication record in reputed journals, and/or a dossier of significant contributions to professional practice is required.
Applicants should possess either a 1st or 2nd class honours four-year bachelor’s degree in English, ELT or a related field; or a 1st or 2nd class honours three-year bachelor’s degree together with a master’s degree at SLQF Level 9 or above in English, ELT or a related field; or a pass in a four-year bachelor’s degree along with a master’s degree at SLQF Level 9 or above and a minimum of five years of industry experience.
Candidates should have at least two years of undergraduate teaching experience or satisfactory industry experience, along with evidence of research output such as conference or journal publications or research reports.
