Senior Systems Engineer
Location:Colombo 04
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing enterprise server environments, virtualization platforms, cloud infrastructure, backup and disaster recovery solutions, and ensuring high system availability across multiple data centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Manage VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, virtual machines, clusters, and storage.
- Perform backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery using Commvault Backup & Recovery.
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and optimize servers.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related infrastructure services.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) drills, failover, and failback activities.
- Maintain infrastructure across geographically distributed data centers.
- Administer Microsoft Azure resources, including Virtual Machines, Storage, Virtual Networks, Azure Backup, and Azure Monitor.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure high system availability.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4–5 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure administration.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu)
- VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
- Commvault Backup & Recovery
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Administration.
- Experience managing infrastructure in multi-data center environments.
- Experience in FinTech, Banking, or other highly regulated industries is an advantage.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
