Job Description

Job Vacancy: Asset Operations - Song Sleuth (Sri Lanka based)

Do you care about music? Perhaps you have a band or a singer that you've been a fan of since day one. Would you like to help your favourite artists and performers get paid fairly for their work? At Song Sleuth, we believe that a healthy music industry is one in which all musicians, songwriters and rights holders are paid fairly and correctly for their music.

Go to any music concert these days, and you will likely see a sea of smartphones recording people's favourite artists performing their biggest hits. Often, fans will upload their concert videos to online platforms such as YouTube and Facebook. This is known as 'user-generated content'. While some of these videos and other forms of UGC, such as tutorials, remixes, edits - are captured by existing content ID systems, many of them are currently being missed. This means that the artists are not getting paid as they should be for videos that feature their IP and copyright.

Song Sleuth is a music technology company that is solving this issue of unclaimed videos online, and helping artists and rights holders get paid correctly. We work with record labels, music publishers, artist managers, and others to help them find uses of their music in public platforms such as Youtube, Facebook, TikTok, and more.

You'll work with music industry and tech company veterans to help build Al technology that allows musicians to earn the money they are owed from videos containing their music. Our proprietary platform leverages music theory, music business/rights expertise, and cutting edge machine learning powered by significant data science work. All of these things are necessary to find content, understand the music within it, and claim it on behalf of our music rights holders partners.

What you'll do

  • You'll work within Song Sleuth's architecture to validate assets that are produced by our system for subsequent claiming across YouTube and other online platforms.
  • You'll validate assets, which involves listening to (and validating claims against) a lot of music across genres, with a focus on live music recordings.

  • You'll be joining a dynamic and expanding team of passionate engineers, operations specialists, leading marketing professionals, and top-tier business developers. Our team is known for its intelligence, kindness, sense of humour, and a great passion for music and the music industry.
