Feedback, Risk and Compliance Coordinator

REPORTING TO

Country Office, Ampara, Akkaraipattu.

Till 31st Dec 2025 (Extendable subject to performance and Organizational need)

JOB PURPOSE

The Job Holder will work with internal key stakeholders to identify risk and suggests risk mitigation measures. Assess adequacy and compliance of internal controls and recommends improvements to reduce identified risks to an acceptable level. Lead activities of the Internal Compliance Department including acting as custodian of Company Complaint response Mechanism.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

A. Compliance Planning:

  • Through a comprehensive risk assessment exercise identify with management areas of high risk within the organization’s operating environment.
  • Following the risk assessment develop a compliance plan which provides sufficient compliance coverage of the key risk areas facing Company.

B. Compliance plan Implementation and follow up

  • Ensure quality standards are met and maintained through supervision of teams and review of assurance work.
  • Ensures the implementation of the compliance plan to provide assurance on the effective management of risks and functioning of internal controls.
  • Making sure that compliance reports prepared as a result of compliances and review assignments are based on sufficient and reliable compliance evidence.
  • Monitors action taken by management in response to assurance reviews ensuring effective follow up.
  • Oversee and conduct adhoc investigation as required on areas of specific concern, including possible initial fraud investigation.
  • Coordinate the development and review of Country Office Risks Register and monitors the effectiveness of the controls put in place by management to manage these risks.

C. Complaints response mechanism:

  • Act as a custodian of Company Complaints response mechanism.
  • Maintain an updated log of the complaints received from all stakeholders.
  • Investigate and follow up on the complaints received.

D. Building Capacity:

  • Work with Country Representative and Senior Management to improve their understanding of risk management and operational compliance.
  • Continually and actively develop technical knowledge in relation to new initiatives and systems.

E. Internal and External Relationships:

  • Keep up to date on significant developments within the organization, and Donor community.
  • Keep up to date on developments in the areas of general accounting, non-profit issues, Government and other regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with IRW Compliance department.
  • Participate in organizational activities that promote networking and representation of the compliance department.

Provide training and support.

  • Identify any gaps in compliance awareness and training.
  • Offer guidance and support to other departments to ensure adherence to IR regulations.
  • Provide expert advice to management on compliance matters.
  • Develop and implement awareness and training programs to ensure staff comprehension of regulations and laws.
  • Review promotional materials associated with IR Members and IRW to ensure consistency with program regulations.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact IRW, and keep relevant stakeholders updated accordingly.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with the organizational values & principles, vision and mission as well as commitment to its PSEAH (preventing sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) protocols. IR has a zero-tolerance policy towards PSEAH and don’t support any action that promotes or encourages PSEAH.

Education/ Experience:

Bachelor's Degree (16 years of education) in relevant discipline with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in Audit, internal compliance, complaint handling and reporting, in an INGO setup.

Desirable

  • Fluency in English, and local languages.
  • Empathy, Good communication skills, Ability to work in a multicultural environment, analytical skills, Teamwork/working with people, Drive for results Learning Elements.

Computer Skills:

MS Office, Outlook, ERP/ Financial Databases familiarity
