Agronomist

Job Type: Full-time,
Initial 12-month fixed-term contract (potential to become permanent)

Are you passionate about plant tissue culture and micro-propagation? Join our fast-paced and collaborative agricultural sciences start-up as a Tissue Culture Production Technician. You'll play a key role in executing methodologies for mass-scale clone production and contribute to innovative cultivation techniques.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire nursery operation, ensuring smooth workflows.
  • Plant ex-gar plants and transplant seedlings as needed.
  • Implement watering schedules and monitor moisture levels to maintain optimal growth.
  • Conduct routine plant maintenance to ensure quality and health.
  • Monitor plants for pests and diseases, taking appropriate measures.
  • Maintain greenhouse structures, lab, and nursery facilities.
  • Track and achieve daily and monthly production targets.
  • Assist in production planning and forecasting to support business growth.
  • Maintain accurate records & reports on nursery operations for management review.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Banana, Anthurium, Orchid, and Foliage nursery operations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to learning new techniques.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in plant nursery production, propagation, or similar settings is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform delicate work in polyhouses and in the field.
