SAP System Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled SAP System Administrator with experience in the life sciences industry to manage and support SAP environments across development, testing, and production landscapes. The ideal candidate will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of SAP systems and infrastructure, while adhering to GxP, FDA, and other regulatory compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, monitor, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.).
  • Manage SAP Basis operations including transports, backups, patches, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure system compliance with industry-specific regulations such as GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and ISO standards.
  • Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams for system upgrades, support packs, and enhancements.
  • Monitor system performance and availability and respond to system alerts and outages.
  • Perform system refreshes and client copies as needed.
  • Participate in audits and provide system-related documentation for validation and compliance.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and execution for SAP environments.
  • Maintain user roles and authorizations in coordination with security teams.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and operations for change control and validation purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of SAP Basis/System Administration experience, preferably in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with S/4HANA, SAP HANA DB, SAP Fiori, and cloud-hosted SAP environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, SAP BTP).
  • Strong understanding of SAP architecture and integrations with third-party applications.
  • Familiarity with compliance and validation frameworks (CSV, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Windows OS environments.
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager for system monitoring and change control.
  • Knowledge of SAP security and authorization concepts.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • SAP Technology Associate certified.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification preferred.
  • GxP or regulatory compliance training preferred.
