Due to rapid expansion in our operations we are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and result-oriented individual to fill the following position immediately.
POSITION AVAILABLE: GROUP FIRE, SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT OFFICER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property by preventing and minimizing fire risks and other hazards. Responsibilities will typically include:
- Fire Prevention and Risk Assessment, Emergency Preparedness, Training and Education, Incident Response and Investigation, Compliance and Documentation, Maintenance and Inspection.
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the Group, aligning with the overall Health & Safety Strategy.
- Responsible to establish a health safety & environment culture within the Group.
- Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk, adhering to legal requirements.
- Conduct training and awareness sessions on health and safety to minimize the risk involved in the operation.
- Monitor required standards (OSHAS / ISO Standards) by inspecting the operation and propose required actions for accident prevention, inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
- Ensure that the Group adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OSHAS) guidelines and is responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace.
- Recommend solutions for existing issues and implement new prevention measures maintaining statistics on all HSE-related accidents, incidents, near misses, and update the management through HOD to make strategic decisions for the Group of Companies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Professional qualification, preferably a degree, in fire prevention, Occupational Safety, Health & Environment from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar capacity in a Manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards related to Health, Safety, and Environment Management.
- Caring on human health, safety, and concern for the protection of the environment.
- Ability to train others.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Below 50 years of age.
