Vacancy for the position of Shipping Assistant
Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC operates with the vision to be the market leader in elevating and enriching lives in Sri Lanka.
The position holder will be expected to assist the Shipping Manager with operational work relevant to shipment clearance and maintenance of records to facilitate MIS reports.
Job Profile
- Collect, verify, and process shipping documents from overseas suppliers including invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB, COO, and other relevant certificates.
- Coordinate with the bank for document endorsement under LC/DP/TT payment terms, ensuring timely submission and follow-ups.
- Liaise with clearing agents and internal stakeholders for smooth customs clearance and delivery planning.
- Support timely GRN processing by coordinating system entries with the warehouse and finance teams.
- Maintain accurate filing and digital archiving of shipping and clearance documents.
- Follow up on duty payments, container deposits, and related financial reconciliations with Finance and Clearing Agents.
Personal Profile
- A minimum of 01 year experience in similar capacity preferably in a logistic related company.
- A degree in B.Sc. Logistics and Transportation from a recognized university or related Professional Qualification will be an added advantage.
- Strong Knowledge on International Trade and Business Management & International supply and logistics.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication in English.
- Competent in working on MS Office packages.
