SENIOR MARKER MAKER

LOCATION: CORPORATE OFFICE - WATTALA

Create markers for various purposes, including costing, booking, samples, size sets, pilots, bulk, and special customer requirements.
Collaborate with the Pattern Makers and other relevant parties to understand marker requirements.
Review and optimize existing markers, recommend layout adjustments, and suggest pattern modifications to enhance marker efficiency.
Analyze fabric waste based on design, matching, placemats, and fabric direction, and liaise with relevant teams to address any variations or discrepancies.
Optimize fabric utilization while maintaining garment integrity and construction standards.
Interpret tech packs, pattern specifications, and fabric widths to ensure marker efficiency.
Ensure timely delivery of markers to meet tight sample room schedules.
Troubleshoot and adjust markers based on fabric defects, shrinkage, and customer-specific instructions.

Diploma or other equivalent qualification in Marker Making or Apparel Technology from a recognized institution.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Marker Maker in the apparel industry.
Strong working knowledge of CAD software (OptiTex or equivalent).
Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking to optimize fabric usage.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs, and lay plans.
Knowledge of garment construction, fabric properties, and design specifications to achieve efficient and cost-effective production.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of different fabric types, shrinkage behaviors, and laying techniques is an advantage.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
