VACANCY
SENIOR MARKER MAKER
LOCATION: CORPORATE OFFICE - WATTALA
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create markers for various purposes, including costing, booking, samples, size sets, pilots, bulk, and special customer requirements.
- Collaborate with the Pattern Makers and other relevant parties to understand marker requirements.
- Review and optimize existing markers, recommend layout adjustments, and suggest pattern modifications to enhance marker efficiency.
- Analyze fabric waste based on design, matching, placemats, and fabric direction, and liaise with relevant teams to address any variations or discrepancies.
- Optimize fabric utilization while maintaining garment integrity and construction standards.
- Interpret tech packs, pattern specifications, and fabric widths to ensure marker efficiency.
- Ensure timely delivery of markers to meet tight sample room schedules.
- Troubleshoot and adjust markers based on fabric defects, shrinkage, and customer-specific instructions.
INDIVIDUAL PROFILE
- Diploma or other equivalent qualification in Marker Making or Apparel Technology from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Marker Maker in the apparel industry.
- Strong working knowledge of CAD software (OptiTex or equivalent).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking to optimize fabric usage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs, and lay plans.
- Knowledge of garment construction, fabric properties, and design specifications to achieve efficient and cost-effective production.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of different fabric types, shrinkage behaviors, and laying techniques is an advantage.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
