Position Available: RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R & D) MANAGER
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Research and Development (R&D) Manager to lead our innovation and product development initiatives. This role is crucial for driving new product ideas, improving existing offerings, and aligning R&D strategies with business goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the R&D department in developing new food products and improving existing ones.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Production, and Quality Assurance.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify innovation opportunities.
- Oversee lab trials, testing, and scaling of new products for commercial production.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for R&D projects.
- Mentor and develop junior staff within the R&D team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D, preferably in the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.
- Strong knowledge of food processing, formulation, and sensory evaluation.
- Proven project management and leadership skills.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in developing baked goods, snacks, or confectionery products.
- Familiarity with international food safety standards such as ISO, HACCP, or BRC.
- Exposure to automation or innovation in food production technologies.
