Crystal Martin Ceylon (Private) Limited is a subsidiary company of the Hong Kong Based Crystal International Group Limited, having 06 apparel manufacturing facilities island wide and providing employment to 5000 employees.
ASSISTANT MANAGER – PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
Ensure all the Crystal Industrial Engineering specified Projects optimize results through process improvement in the manufacturing by using IE functions while meeting the business needs. Drive, facilitate, strategize and promote IE functions, promoting innovations and savings and Deputy General Manager Industrial Engineering to execute all duties that come under IE function CMSL.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process improvements. (Reduce, mitigate, control & error proof for standard deviations)
- Technological upgrades.
- Standardize procedures and policies. (Review and update business procedures and documents based on project requirements).
- Review 3 months Product basket in CMSL FR plans (optimize the repeatability).
- Analyze process matrix & performance data for new improvements in the areas of (Performance/Quality/Cost/Preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance)
- Facilitate the deployment as a change agent.
- Assist management for ( Finance Projects / IT Projects / Supply Chain / Handling / Buyer visits or audits )
- Train and guide resources as needed to align the process.
- Prepare project presentations for management when needed. (Prepare IE project reports on time for management. / follow the defined IE process by selecting a random style per month)
PROJECTS, CMSL - PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVING PROJECTS
- QCO, Stat crew Process (GSD APPLY MBP / Savings.)
- Skill development,
- Skill planning 6 plants (weekly, monthly, 3 months)
- Skill development should be focused: (It should be from factory) line/style / operation / machine (planned EPF numbers)
- Publish daily update about focus training plan in the morning / achievement in the evening.
- Weekly review / monthly review.
- IE data management (PDCS)
IE PROCESS STANDARDIZATION
- Drive QCO/STAT crew project to meet business defined targets CMSL.
- 1. QCO Critical path analysis and follow up to achieve 100%
- 2. Feeding matrix and technical, mechanical support utilization.
- 3. Reports, Risk & Trend analysis.
- 1st 3 hours Efficiency improving project - CMSL.
- 1. Analysis and follow up to achieve 100% 1st 3 hours daily learning curve in each line.
- 2. Feeding matrix and technical, mechanical support utilization.
- 3. Reports, Risks & Trend analysis.
- Operator & Jumper Skill matrix Development project- CMSL
- 1. Month development plan
- 2. Improvement follow up weekly & monthly.
- 3. Measure the trends and make strategic plans against company defined targets.
- IE process Standardizing and Sustainability -CM
- 1. Conduct daily/weekly/monthly audits to ensure the set standards.
- 2. Drive skill development project (MO & jumper) to achieve the business defined targets.
- 3. Drive Kanban project to achieve business defined targets.
- 4. IE Skills matrix
- 5. Updated documents & information
- 6. Accuracy of the information
- 7. Visual control
- 8. Process audit should
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of IE tools such as GSD, Method Study, Work Measurement, and Process Optimization techniques.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Industrial Engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the apparel industry.
- Proven experience in handling IE projects related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Hands-on experience with systems such as PDCS, QCO, STAT crew processes, and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Strong project management and reporting skills with the ability to present to senior management.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Finance, IT, and Supply Chain.
