Head of Sales

About the Position:

Responsible for designing tailor-made holidays to the idyllic island of Sri Lanka by actively interacting and guiding clients towards picking the best holiday to suit their requirements, contributing towards ultimate client satisfaction whilst overseeing activities and performance of the sales team, developing sales team through motivation, counseling and product knowledge education and driving organizations' profits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promoting RDT and introducing new itineraries and tours to the market.

Analyzing budgets, preparing annual budget plans, scheduling expenditures and ensuring that the sales team meets their quotas and goals.

Researching and developing sales opportunities and plans, understanding requirements, identifying market trends and suggesting system improvements to achieve the company's sales goals.

Gathering, investigating, and summarizing market data and trends to draft reports.

Implementing new sales plans.

Recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching, and managing sales teams to meet sales related human resource objectives.

Maintaining relationships with important

clients by making regular visits or organizing sales calls, understanding their needs and anticipating new market opportunities.

Staying current trends in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences and workshops, reading publications and maintaining personal and professional networks.

  • Managing employees within business unit, conducting appraisals, mentoring and training.

Academic requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or equivalent related qualification.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years in similar capacity
  • Desirable competencies and skills
  • Experience in management.
  • Passionate about travel and tourism
  • Strong analytical, organizational and creative thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Knowledge of data analysis and report writing.

Experience in working with a Customer Relationship Management tool will be an advantage.

  • Excellent knowledge of product and latest tourism trends
  • Good understanding of tourism offerings and options

Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage

Good sales and presentation skills

  • Good organizational and time-management skills
