Executive - Finance
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in preparation, filing of Income Tax, filing VAT and other taxes related to the company whenever necessary.
- Execute precise processing of month-end entries, including salaries and wages.
- Ensure all entries adhere to accounting standards and internal policies.
- Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage pre-payment accounts, ensuring timely recognition and reconciliation.
- Work closely with vendors and internal departments to validate pre-payment balances.
- Process recurring entries such as accruals, depreciation, and amortization and ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Review and reconcile recurring entries to financial statements.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to provisions and recurring entries.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits.
- Work closely with the Inland Revenue Department of Sri Lanka on all tax-related matters of the company.
- Coordinate with external parties for day-to-day finance and taxation related matters.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in accounting or finance or a part qualification of a professional accounting body in Sri Lanka together with tax related qualification such as SLIT, CTA.
- 2 years' work experience in taxation in a manufacturing organization which is engaged in imports & exports.
- Experience in finance, accounting, and taxations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English, data analyzing, presentation and statistical tools.
