Job Description

As the Wind Power Project Manager/Site Manager for a 10MW wind power project, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of project planning, execution, and site management. From initial development to construction and commissioning, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the project, managing resources, coordinating activities, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules for the 10MW wind power project.
  • Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors involved in project development and construction.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and services required for site development and wind turbine installation.
  • Oversee all construction activities at the project site, including turbine foundation construction, tower erection, and electrical infrastructure installation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and construction crews to ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, critical path analyses, and progress tracking mechanisms.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule integrity.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship on the construction site.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement quality assurance and control processes to verify construction quality and adherence to standards.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and local communities.
  • Communicate project updates, address concerns, and facilitate collaboration to achieve project objectives.
  • Oversee commissioning activities, including turbine testing, system integration, and performance validation.
  • Ensure readiness for commercial operation and facilitate project handover to operations and maintenance teams.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in project management and site management of a wind power & Solar power project in Sri Lanka.
  • Strong technical knowledge of wind power project development, construction methods, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and permitting processes applicable to wind power projects in Sri Lanka.
